Description
Hydrochinone (para - benzenediol, benzene - 1,4 - diol) — aromatic organic compound, the representative of two - nuclear phenols with chemical formula of C6H4(OH)2. Easily is oxidized (recovers silver salts in the cold).
It is applied in the photo as the showing substance, in synthesis of organic dyes as antioxidant, etc.
In cosmetics it was used as component for bleaching of skin earlier, but in recent years practically everywhere it is forbidden because of high danger to skin. As negative catalyst of free radical polymerization of methylmethacrylate is part of stomatologic composite materials of chemical cure.
