Qualification: Imp.
Appearance: colourless crystals
Packing: bags, 25 kg
Storage conditions: in the dry, well aired room
Zirconium dioxide (zirconium dioxide, zirconium dioxide) - one of the most refractory metal oxides.
Zirconium dioxide shows amphoteric properties, is water - insoluble also aqueous solutions of the majority of acids and alkalis, however is dissolved in the fluoric and concentrated by chamois acids, fusions of alkalis and glasses.
Zirconium dioxide (zirconium dioxide) exists in three crystal forms:
• stable monoklinny, meeting in the nature in the form of baddeleyite mineral.
• metastable medium temperature tetragonal, present at many zirconium keramika,
• unstable high - temperature cubic.
Application
In the industry Didioksid of zirconium is used in production of zirconium ogneupor, keramik, enamels, glasses. It is applied as superhard material.
The large transparent crystals of cubic zirconium dioxide stabilized by impurity of magnesium oxides, yttrium, calcium, cerium or other metals thanks to high rate of refraction and dispersion are applied in jewelry as imitation of diamonds.
